Young Vic theatre says Cycle Superhighways will help cast, crew, and audiences

young-vic-logoThe Young Vic is a theatre on The Cut in Southwark. They have a focus on presenting new plays from young directors, but also put on many classic productions. With at least 15 plays a year, they are a staple of the thriving South Bank theatre scene.

David Lan has been Artistic Director at the Young Vic since 2000. He released a statement explaining how the cycle superhighways will help all the people who make up the theatre:

david-lanThe Young Vic supports the proposals for the East/West and North/South cycle superhighways in central London. Audiences and cast members as well as the organisation’s permanent and casual staff travel to our theatre from all over London – and beyond. The proposed route would pass extremely close to our theatre, along Blackfriars Road, and will allow for safe and easy access for those who choose to cycle. As an organisation committed to sustainability, we hope the proposed superhighways may even encourage more of our visitors to jump on their bikes.
