CEO of leading digital agency Friday outlines support for TfL cycle plans

Friday-logoFriday is one of the UK’s leading digital consultancies. The team have been based in Barbican since the business was founded five years ago. Alex Wright, Friday’s CEO, is a leading thinker in digital marketing and explained why ‘Crossrail for Bikes’ is so important to the business.

‘We have 80 staff, and are growing at 25% per year. Many of our employees cycle to work. We have a scheme where everyone who joins is offered a folding bicycle, as a standard company benefit, like a pension or healthcare. About half our people accept, and cycle. The main reason cited by our employes who decline this offer, is that they don’t feel comfortable and safe on the roads. We value their safety and we want to promote active lifestyles for all our employees. We support their freedom to choose how they get to work. We also note strong evidence that more cycling increases spending in local retail businesses and lowers air pollution levels. The proposed north–south and east–west routes will help us attract and retain the employees our business needs to continue to thrive. They will also make London a more attractive city in which to build and run our business.‘Crossrail for Bikes’ is, on balance,  great for our business and for London.  Please make sure these plans are delivered, without delay.’
