38 Degrees, the London-based campaign group, have come out in support of the plans for new protected cycle routes in London. Founded in 2009, they have become one of the leading lights in online campaigning. They now have over 2.5million members and have had many successful online campaigns.
In a statement to Transport for London they said:
38 Degrees is one of the UK’s biggest campaigning communities, with our staff team based in our Clerkenwell office. Like many businesses in London, a growing number of our 21 employees cycle to work. An even larger proportion of our team would cycle to the office if they felt comfortable and safe on the roads.
We value their right to get to work safely and we support plans for segregated cycling infrastructure.
‘Crossrail for Bikes’ is, on balance, great for our organisation and for London.
