The world’s largest music label ask TfL for safer cycle routes in London

Universal Music is the world’s largest music label, with hundreds of the top artists signed to them. Their London headquarters is home to over hundreds of staff, many of whom ride.

COO David Sharpe explained in a letter to Transport for London,  that the label includes such well known brands as  Capitol, Decca, Island, Polydor and Virgin EMI.

We  have been based in London since 1929, and now have over 700 staff. We  value their safety and we want to promote active lifestyles for all our employees. The proposed north–south and east–west routes would broaden everyone’s choice in how they get to work.

They will also make London a more attractive city in which to build and run our business.

We are delighted to add the label to our huge numbers of creative industries. Many of whom make this city such an exciting and vibrant place t live and work.
